Tips on how to get inlinks

As all we know, if we want to blog to make money, Search Engine Optimization is one of the techniques that cannot be neglected. It is known as the best method to gain free and targeted traffic. So in this post, I am going to teach how to gain “Off Page Search Engine Optimization”. In these 5 tips, you will be able to gain control of the inlinks that you will be having. And most likely, you can gain some placing in SERPs if you do it correctly.
Drum rolls…….

Tip 1 : Link Exchanging

In your earn money blogging quest, you will be doing some link exchange with other webmasters of blogs. They may or may not agree to do a link exchange. But do not fear to ask. As most of the time, they are more than willing to do link exchange. However, do be caution when you are doing a link exchange. Here are some guidance to check when you are requesting for a link exchange

  1. Do a Google search on the other website. Make sure it is not banned from Google. If you link up with a banned website in Google, Google will also ban you.
  2. Do a count on the links on the homepage. Having more than 200 links in a single webpage is an indication that it is a link farm to Google.
  3. Check the frequency of the postings. Remember, if you do a blog roll link exchange, you will have an inlink in every post of the blog. This is a very good way to gain inlinks.

Tip 2 : Forum posting

Forum is a place where other common interest people are talking in a common topic. Here, you can display your expertise and also gain valuable inlinks. Why? Cause most of the topic you can discuss there, are all related to your website. However, there are 2 things to look out when you want to gain inlinks from forum. Here it is.

  1. Forum must able to support you putting a URL in your signature.
  2. Forum must be able to access by public. Which means even if you are not logged on, you are still able to see the threads.

Here are some tips that you might want to consider when you are posting in the forum.

  • Do be humble with whatever you post. Remember, there are also experts outside. What you need to do is not to argue with the other experts but to learn from the other experts.
  • When in doubt, do a research on the topic before doing any post to any thread. This can put your expertise in doubt if you answer wrongly

Tip 3 : Comments

Comments is where you read others blogs and leave a comment on it. The best website to do that is Squidoo. In there, a lot of LenseMasters are building lenses daily. And there are good lenses where they are of high PR like PR5. You can leave a message with your website inlink in the Comments box. However, there are comments box that needs to seek approval before it is published. So, you might need to try and record the links down. There are also website lists you can add your website inlinks to it. Although most of the list does not require approval, there are some lists which also need approval. So far, I only have one that requires approval

Tip 4 : Articles

Articles are very widely used to gain inlinks. You can write an article and post it to different article directory. Although Google did say they are not very happy with duplicated content but in article directories, this might not be the case. Google sees them as different article as different article directories have different formatting. But you do need to take note when writing articles.

  1. Articles must be of original content. Do not copy from others. Just read from others and write them out in your own words
  2. Articles must be useful to the readers. Write something that the readers want to know. And do not write anything about negative techniques like “Black Hat SEO”. Some article directories do not allow the discussion of these.
  3. Read the TOS of the article directories so you will not violate any. When in doubt, feel free to contact the reviewer of the article.
  4. Categorized your article to parts. This is to help the readers to read your article easily.

Tip 5 : Website Directories

Submitting your website to directories can be a hassle if you did not do it correctly. This is because all website directories like DMOZ and Yahoo! Directory are all human reviewed. They will review your website and see whether your website is suitable for submission. Here are some tips that you want to take note.

  1. Do not promote your website in the directories. Just make it short and simple. Straight to the point.
  2. Read the submit criteria before you submit your website. You won’t want them to reject your website. Each review may take up to 3 months or even more
  3. If you want to get include in Yahoo! directory, you might want to consider to get the domain from them. And from there, they will be including your domain for free. It will take only about 3-7 days

The 5 tips can be easily implemented if you do them correctly. It is the path to climb up the SERPs of your targeted keyword.
I am having an appointment later, so I hope these tips can help you in your Make Money Online Quest.

Is one to two links a day in google good? I was wondering because I have sent articles, links, I have posted comments, blogs. Probly over 1000 over all. But yeah I was just wondering if you knew how long it will take for them to come in. Does it start coming in any faster?
Thanks,
Jason
