The word “pwned” simply means to win or to conquer. And I used that in my title cause I believe you can do that if you understand this post.
Google ranks webpages based on 2 main factor, content and links. But not both have the same share. As good content will have good links, more shares are giving to links. If your website has good content, it basically will attract more links, and this is why Google place more shares on links.
Anchor text
Anchor text is one of the high important factor in linking. A simple example is by keying “click here” into Google and see the results yourself. If you notice, Adobe do not optimize anywhere in the website for the keyword, “click here”. And yet it can rank first out of the billions websites. The only reason behind it is linking. Having your links with anchor text that has your keywords is the right way to optimize for SERPs. You need to create varied anchor text and use it in different links. Also, do not collect links from the same IP.
